In the game, much like real life, the trophy systems stop all projectiles thrown or shot at a player of the game. The trophy systems in Call of Duty actually stop knifes and various other things that can be thrown, whether it can cause harm to the other players or not. In real life, the trophy systems stop any lethal equipment that is shot or thrown at the tank. This gives the tank a sort of invisible forcefield. This also makes the tanks virtually bullet proof.
